Quantum Speed™ is grounded and built upon the 3 specific pillars of Skating Development (Technique, Power and Speed) and the principles of Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD).
The principles of LTAD provide the foundation for all of our programming, skills and drills. Our terminology, progressions, instructor ratios, and drill building are designed to grow with the players as they grow.
In other words, the programs are process-oriented and logically designed to meet the needs of players specific to their personal developmental age.
Our Signature 'Q3' Programs begin at the Bantam age to align with LTAD's 'late specialization' theory and most players' second Speed Training Window (male and female ages ~14+/-2). These programs only run in the ‘Development Season’ (April to August) and support players in learning the importance of ‘Training to Train’.
Our Philosophy is that the ‘training’ of skating for an athlete is more than learning skills or drills and skating around at high speeds without purposeful intent. It is about clearly understanding and committing to movement patterns that result in enhanced body awareness, confidence in their skills and mechanics that lead to explosive and controlled speed.
“This is not Old School Powerskating…. We specialize in assisting people to skate efficiently for their age, size, build, level of play, maturity, and, as they get older, we also link personality and their positional play - we don’t just teach skating.”
